In the framework of preventing and combating violent extremism in schools, the CVE Center in coordination with the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth and the Ministry of Interior has organized in November several information / awareness sessions with school security officers and community policing officers. There are eight information sessions held, with around 120 representatives from these two structures.

In accordance with the measures against COVID-19, in these meetings was discussed the importance of strengthening cooperation between local actors to ensure safety in schools in the framework of preventing radicalism and violent extremism for youngsters. The issues presented were concerning the need to further increase capacity building, the development of a protocol for the management and addressing of cases where youngsters who show signs of violent extremism are addressed to the relevant structures, as well as capacity building for school staff in order to minimize the problems that arise in schools.
