On January 30, 2023, the Coordination Center for Countering Violent Extremism and the “Vodafone Albania” Foundation conducted a training with experts, specifically Child Protection Workers of the Administrative Units of Tirana as well as employees of the CVE Center on the “Bright Sky” application.

This training took place within the framework of the cooperation that the Coordination Center for Countering Violent Extremism has with the private sector actors in fulfilling its mission.

The purpose of this training was to discuss the use of the “Bright Sky” application developed by the “Vodafone Albania” foundation. Bright Sky is a free app which provides support and information to anyone who may be in an abusive relationship, or those who are concerned about someone who may be in such a relationship. The application enables users not only advice and information but also the nearest center for support.

This application has been adapted to be used by both specialists and professionals, as well as ordinary people, who are looking for information about issues of domestic violence, online safety, threats to stalking and consent to sexual intercourse.

The training also discussed the problems of children related to the issues of violence as well as the risk of the influence of elements of violent extremism. In continuation of the cooperation with the Coordination Center for Countering Violent Extremism, it was decided to add to this application the possibility of reporting cases of violent extremism.

At the moment of the implementation of this project and the addition of the component of radicalism and violent extremism, the possibility of reporting cases of radicalism and extremism will be created through the “Bright Sky” application, which will serve as a reporting mechanism for this phenomenon.

This cooperation between the “Vodafone Albania” foundation and the CVE Center, comes in fulfillment of the objectives of the strategy and action plan for countering violent extremism and terrorism on the increase of cooperation between all actors included, the private sector as well as increasing the professional capacities of actors and staff involved in this process.
