The CVE Center, in June 2020, completed the two-year project 2018-2020 with the organization for Local Planning and Governance (PLGP). This project is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and focused on raising awareness and resilience of local government leaders in the implementation of the National Strategy for Countering Violent Extremism.

This cooperation that focused on socio-economic, political and cultural issues in the prevention of radicalism and violent extremism in Albania, started in November 2018. The purpose of this project was to promote civic participation, strengthen local mechanisms and civil society to build sustainable communities in the municipalities where the project was launched.

This project was concretized through the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the CVE Center and PLGP, on April 16, 2019.
