On September 11 & 12, 2025, two representatives, one from the Coordination Center for Countering Violent Extremism and one from the State Police, took part in the regional meeting organized by the EU Knowledge Hub on “The Nexus between Online Radicalization and Disinformation in the Western Balkans”. The meeting, held in Sarajevo, brought together representatives from state institutions, civil society, academia, frontline practitioners, and digital platforms.
During the first day’s sessions, discussions focused on the online radicalization and its hybridization, as well as on institutional responses at the national level. The Albanian representatives presented the steps undertaken to address this phenomenon and shared the experiences of the CVE Center, particularly in the field of counter-narratives.

On the second day, the focus was on strengthening digital resilience against online radicalization, as well as on the alignment with the European Union’s legal framework.
The CVE Center’s participation in this meeting was an important opportunity to exchange experiences, to reinforce regional cooperation, and to ensure that Albania’s approaches remain in line with European standards and practices in this field.
