The Director of the CVE Center delivered the welcoming speech at the RAN workshop on strategic communication on FTFs and their families returning to the Western Balkans

Director of the Coordination Center for Countering Violent Extremism, Mrs. Lejdi Dervishi contributed to the workshop organized by the Radicalization Awareness Network (RAN) on “Strategic Communication on FTFs and their families returning to the Western Balkans”, which was attended by representatives at the policy-making level from the Western Balkans and EU Member States, who discussed the organization and structuring of strategic communication for the return of foreign terrorist fighters and their families to the Western Balkans.

The Director of the CVE Center noted the work and approach of the CVE Center in relation to strategic communication and coordination of public appearances at two levels, political and technical. Mrs. Dervishi highlighted the focus and mission of the CVE Center in preventing and combating the phenomenon, as well as on regular engagement with communities, policy-makers and front-line actors in policy-making and implementation of activities in combating and preventing violent extremism.

During the workshop were examined the challenges faced by the Western Balkan countries in relation to strategic communication for returnees and how to overcome these challenges, including various actors and agencies.
