On April 7th and 8th, 2025, the CVE Center coordinated two training sessions for the Regional Committee on Violent Extremism in Gjirokastra Region, focusing on the topic of “Addressing cases of violent extremism and religious radicalization within the community, as well as responding to the needs of returnees from conflict zones.”

The trainings for the Regional Committee and the technical secretariat were conducted in cooperation with the Counseling Line for Women and Girls, and the financial support of the Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund.

On April 7th, the training of the Technical Secretariat of the Regional Committee, Gjirokastra Region, took place. This training aimed to enhance the capacities of the Technical Secretariat members to ensure the smooth operation of the Regional Committee and to fulfill their duty of referring cases of violent extremism, as well as to discuss measures for the prevention of radicalization.

On April 8th, the training was focused on the Role of Regional Committees in Addresiing and Preventing Violent Extremism, the Rehabilitation, Reintegration and Resocialization processes and the understanding of the Albanian context of radicalization. The members of the Regional Committee were acquainted with the functioning of national referral mechanisms and the importance of inter-institutional cooperation. During the discussions, the participants emphasized the need for trainings to raise community awareness regarding the phenomenon of radicalization and violent extremism.
