The Director of the CVE Center contributes within the National Platform for the Countering Violent Extremism of Montenegro

The Director of the CVE Center, Mrs. Lejdi Dervishi, was invited to give her contribution on behalf of Albania in the conference held in the city of Podgorica within the National Platform for Countering Violent Extremism in Montenegro. This initiative was implemented by the Ministry of Interior of Montenegro, coordinated by the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs with the support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Mrs. Dervishi presented the achievements and the current situation regarding this phenomenon in Albania and stressed the importance of inter-institutional cooperation and the relationship between central and local government, in interaction with civil society organizations that support the rehabilitation and reintegration processes of the returnees at the local level. Also, the Director of the CVE Center stressed the importance of regional cooperation in the framework of best practices, emphasizing the construction of a joint communication strategy to combat this phenomenon in a polarized society.

The participants from the region underlined that countering this phenomenon requires more support from governments for long-term and sustainable solutions.
