The Coordination Center for Countering Violent Extremism – Albania is a hub for coordination and capacity development of local stakeholders and frontline practitioners involved in efforts to counter violent extremism in Albania and the region by sharing best practices and developing effective evidence based responses to counter the threat of violent extremism. The Center is regularly engaging with communities, policymakers, and practitioners in Albania, the region, and internationally to better informs policies and activities in support of preventing and countering violent extremism.
The Coordination Center for Countering Violent Extremism – Albania was established pursuant to the Council of Ministers’ decision 737 from December 2017, as a public legal entity, with headquarters in Tirana.
The Center’s mission is the development of the capacities of different actors involved in actions against violent extremism, the preservation and promotion of the values of religious tolerance and harmony, the protection of human rights, the rule of law and democracy, and also the protection of the Albanian society from violent extremism.
