The Coordination Center for Countering Violent Extremism signed on February 10 the Cooperation Agreement (Memorandum of Understanding) with the Strategic Partner: International Organization of Migration (IOM) within the IOM Regional Project in the Western Balkans “Institutional capacity building in the Western Balkans to address the challenges related to the reintegration and rehabilitation of returnees from conflict zones “, funded by the European Union which will be implemented until August 2023.
The agreement was signed by the Director of the CVE Center, Ms. Lejdi Dervishi; Director of the IOM Office in Tirana, Ms. Alma Jani, in the presence of Mr. Jonas Paul, EU Representative in Albania.
The Director of the CVE Center, Ms. Lejdi Dervishi, said that the Albanian Government appreciates the support of IOM and the EU during our joint efforts in the process of preventing and combating violent extremism, while the CVE Center will ensure a stable and fruitful coordination between all actors involved in this long-term process.
The project will contribute to building the path towards the establishment of the reintegration system of foreign terrorist fighters in Albania with the support of the EU by implementing a friendly approach to minors and familes reintegration by all actors involved in accordance with EU standards and human rights principles.
