The Director of the Coordination Center Countering Violent Extremism, Ms. Lejdi Dervishi held a meeting in Vlora Municipality to introduce the program “Strengthening of Local Structures and Governmental Institutions to Prevent Violent Extremism and to Support the Rehabilitation and Reintegration Process in Albania” which has just started to be implemented. As one of the five target municipalities, Vlora will benefit from this initiative which aims to increase the safety and sustainability of the community.
This program will be implemented by the Initiative for Social Change (ARSIS) in collaboration with the Albanian Center for Population and Development (ACPD), under the coordination of the CVE Center and with financial support of the GCERF (Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund).
During the meeting, strategies for preventing violent extremism through a comprehensive approach were presented, including the engagement of youth, religious leaders, journalists, schools, administrative units and community members
