The Coordination Center for Countering Violent Extremism was invited to the inter-agency forum on “P/CVE awareness-raising session for prison and Probation staff”, organized by the Institute for Activism and Social Change, with the support of the Council of Europe. This forum was organized in the framework of the joint program of the European Union/Council of Europe of Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022.

During the activity had been discussed the prevention of the phenomenon of violent extremism, the management of convicts’ cases, as well as their successful reintegration into society. The activity also served as an opportunity to exchange and coordinate interventions before and after release from prison, processes which require a comprehensive approach of various state and non-state actors.

In his speech, the representative of the CVE Center presented the preventive approach to radicalization and the prevention of violent extremism within the internal systems of prisons and the Probation Staff, as well as the positive results in the framework of inter-institutional engagement.
