The Coordination Center Against Violent Extremism (CVE – Center) coordinated and participated in an important meeting with representatives of the Regional Committees for the Prevention of Radicalization and the Fight against Violent Extremism. The meeting was held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at the Dibër District Prefecture.
The purpose of this meeting is to strengthen strategies and mechanisms to combat the threats of radicalization and violent extremism at the regional level.
After the meeting, a training was held on the topic of “Strengthening the role of Regional Committees in addressing violent extremism and in the process of reintegration of returnees from conflict zones”. This training was held within the framework of the project “Leaving the Past Behind: Building Resilience to Violent Extremism”, organized by the Women and Girls Helpline with the support of GCERF, coordinated by CVE- Center.
The training aims to address the challenges of violent extremism, religious radicalism, as well as the processes of rehabilitation and reintegration of persons returning from conflict zones, as well as strengthening the capacities of the Regional Committee to effectively identify and address cases of individuals or groups at risk of radicalization. Participants exchanged experiences and best practices, focusing on the importance of inter-institutional cooperation and community involvement in this process.
Through these engagements, the CVE-Center ensures that the Regional Committees have the necessary resources and support to create a safe and sustainable environment in local communities.
