The Director of the Coordination Center for Countering Violent Extremism, Mrs. Lejdi Dervishi attended the OSCE General Conference Against Terrorism 2021 on 20th of April. During her speech, Mrs. Dervishi focused on addressing the root causes of violent extremism and radicalization leading to terrorism.
The Director of the CVE Center stressed that the Albanian Government has a clear strategy and remains committed to the National Action Plan against Violent Extremism, which is a comprehensive approach to the protection of fundamental freedoms and human rights.
Mrs. Dervishi underlined that the policy pursued by Albania facing this phenomenon is that of investing energy, resources, and political will, mainly in preventing radicalism and violent extremism and raising awareness, rather than facing the processes of rehabilitation and reintegration.
The Director of the CVE Center also thanked the OSCE Mission in Albania and other International Organizations in Vienna for their invaluable support to Albania’s efforts in this direction.
