The Director of the Coordination Center for Countering Violent Extremism, Mrs. Dervishi, held a meeting with the Attaché of Internal Security of the French Embassy in Tirana, Mr. Andres, as well as with the Coordinator of the French Center of expertise on security in South-Eastern Europe, representative of the French Embassy in Serbia, Mr. Prevelakis, to discuss the Albanian Government’s priorities regarding issues of violent extremism and radicalization.

During this meeting, were shared the experiences, best practices, and priorities of the Albanian and French Governments on issues of violent extremism. The focus of the discussion was the strengthening of cooperation and the role of the French government in supporting young people in relation to the prevention of the phenomena of violent extremism and online propaganda. Also, part of the discussion was the encouragement of young people towards research and study of these phenomena, as a priority in the field of education at national and regional level.
