
The Coordination Center against Violent Extremism (CVE) organized today an activity focused on a cross-sectoral approach and interinstitutional cooperation for preventing violent extremism, as well as the rehabilitation and reintegration of children and mothers repatriated from conflict zones. The activity was held with the support of the European Union, in cooperation with GCERF and Hedayah, at the “Let’s Stay Together” Multifunctional Center in Kombinat.
Following the meeting of the Regional Network of National Coordinators (RNNC) held on Wednesday, 22.04.2026, the activity brought together representatives from the region, international organizations, and civil society to exchange experiences, present results, and discuss joint efforts within the framework of the EU Joint Action Plan.
Representatives from the European Commission and the Council of Europe were also present, emphasizing their continued support and commitment to strengthening regional and interinstitutional cooperation in this field.
The activity was opened by the National Coordinator for P/CVE and Director of CVE Center, Ms. Lejdi Dervishi, together with representatives of the EU Delegation and international partners, who highlighted the importance of sustainable cooperation in addressing violent extremism.
Discussions focused on rehabilitation and reintegration programs, the role of the Multifunctional Community Center, and the impact of interinstitutional cooperation within national and local mechanisms, including the KVSPs.
Good practices and concrete challenges were also shared by civil society organizations working closely with QKEDH, bringing attention to their field experiences and contributions to supporting repatriated cases. The discussions emphasized the need to further strengthen interinstitutional cooperation, increase capacities at the local level, and ensure a sustainable and inclusive approach to preventing violent extremism and the successful reintegration of individuals returning from conflict zones.
Representatives of the Municipality of Tirana, through the Multidisciplinary Center in Kombinat, also shared their field experience, highlighting the concrete challenges encountered in rehabilitation and reintegration processes. They emphasized the importance of continuous support from institutional and international partners and invited participants to continue contributing to and supporting this shared mission in service of the community.
