The Coordination Center for Countering Violent Extremism participated in the regional meeting, which took place on 30 September and 1 October in Skopje, Northern Macedonia, with the funding of the European Union. The two-day meeting was part of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) regional project: “Building institutional capacity in the Western Balkans to deal with challenges related to reintegration resocialization and rehabilitation of returning foreign terrorist fighters (RFTF) and their families from conflict zones.”
During this meeting, which brought together front-line professionals who are involved in the rehabilitation and reintegration processes for returnees from conflict zones, the facilitation of regional exchanges and the exchange of experiences on the re-socialization and rehabilitation of persons were discussed. The CVE Center and front-line professionals exchanged the best practices of their countries within the processes that take place from the arrival of these returned citizens until their successful reintegration into the respective communities.
