The Coordination Center for Countering Violent Extremism supported the activity “Dialogue with the Community”, which took place in Bicaj of Kukës, within the project “Empowerment of women to prevent violent extremism in society”, which is being implemented by Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) of Albania.

The activity was attended by local representatives of the State Police, Social Services, Vocational Training and Labor Office, Psychosocial Service, Education Office, and members of the community. During the meeting were discussed issues such as gender inequality, ways of preventing the phenomenon, promoting gender equality to fight violent extremism, etc.

The activity developed within this project, which is realized with the financial support of the Public Relations Office at the US Embassy, ​​aims to create a community where women in rural areas are more informed, aware, active, and economically independent, to be key actors in preventing violent extremism.
