The CVE Coordination Center Participated in the Council of Europe High-Level Conference on Youth Radicalisation and P/CVE

The Coordination Center for Countering Violent Extremism, in its capacity as the institution responsible for coordinating and developing national policies in the field of preventing and countering violent extremism (P/CVE), participated in the High-Level Conference on terrorism, youth radicalisation, and P/CVE, organized by the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.

The conference focused on raising awareness of youth involvement in radicalisation processes, as well as identifying new preventive approaches in the context of digital transformation. It served as a platform for dialogue and cooperation among member states, public institutions, the private sector, and the academic community, to strengthen intersectoral cooperation and exchange best practices.

The conference was opened by Mr. Gianluca Esposito, Director General of Human Rights and Rule of Law at the Council of Europe, and Mr. Samuel Vuelta Simon, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Justice of Monaco, the country currently holding the Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.

Discussions focused on two main directions: The exchange of practical experiences among professionals in security, criminal justice, and prevention of radicalisation regarding the management of cases involving youth in violent extremism.
Strengthening strategic awareness at the political and decision-making levels for the identification and implementation of concrete preventive and intervention measures.
