
The National Coordinator for Countering Violent Extremism, Ms. Lejdi Dervishi, participated in and contributed to the Cross-Border Roundtable on the Prevention and Countering of Violent Extremism and Online Radicalization, held today with the participation of practitioners, policymakers, and civil society representatives from Albania and North Macedonia.
The event was organized in cooperation with the OSCE Presence in Albania and the OSCE Mission to Skopje, providing an important platform for open dialogue and strengthened interinstitutional cooperation.
The roundtable benefited from the contributions of the counterpart National Coordinator, Mr. Pavle Trajanov, as well as representatives from the OSCE Presence in Tirana and Skopje: Mr. Darko Angelov, Ms. Brunilda Halili, Mr. Sedat Ajdari, and Ms. Gerrit Zach. It also brought together a wide range of institutional representatives at both central and local levels, including the Prefect of the Korçë Region, Ms. Florinda Zegullaj, the Mayor of Pogradec, Mr. Ilir Xhakolli, and the Mayor of Librazhd, Mr. Mariglen Disha. Also in attendance were the Chairman of the State Committee on Cults, Mr. Klodian Bulku, along with representatives from law enforcement agencies and civil society organizations.
Discussions focused on key issues, including:
• National and local priorities in the field of P/CVE;
• Challenges and opportunities for strengthening cross-border cooperation;
• Online radicalization and the need for coordinated responses;
• Concrete steps to enhance joint action.
The roundtable highlighted the importance of strengthening professional networks, fostering interinstitutional trust, and promoting joint engagement to move from strategic frameworks to tangible implementation.
