The Coordination Center for Countering Violent Extremism in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth (MESY) and the International Association for Solidarity (SHIS) organized the closing activity of the project “Promoting education to prevent violent extremism”, funded by the Public Relations Office of the US Embassy in Tirana.

The aim of this project was to further develop the educational mechanism with a focus on establishing and strengthening the network of coordinating teachers in order to prevent violent extremism in schools. At the meeting were presented the results obtained from this project which consists of creating a module for capacity building of the network of coordinating teachers in the framework of preventing violent extremism in schools; training of 350 coordinating teachers in the cities of Pogradec, Korça, Librazhd, Elbasan, Cërrik, Tirana, Durrës and Bulqiza; piloting the implementation of the Plan for Countering Violent Extremism at the “Myslym Keta” school, as a good model to transform the school into a community-friendly place.
