The Coordination Center for Countering Violent Extremism (CVE), in cooperation with the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI), organized a training on 28 September – 2 October: “The Hague good practices of the World Counter-Terrorism Forum on the link between International Organized Crime and Terrorism”, a training which is being held for the second year in a row.
During this activity, held in Tirana, 28 front line professionals were trained with the participation of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth, Ministry of Finance and Economy, local government institutions, universities, religious communities, representatives from civil society organizations, as well as representatives from law-enforcement agencies.
Participants were trained on ensuring that communities have access to basic services, strengthening employment and development schemes through economic initiatives, supporting and strengthening rehabilitation and reintegration programs, raising awareness and relevant skills of front-line actors for connection between international organized crime and terrorism, as well as increasing capacity to monitor online space.
During 2019-2020, through this cooperation 60 Albanian officials have been trained.
