The Director of the Coordination Center for Countering Violent Extremism, Ms. Dervishi contributed to the conference “Capacity building and training of prison and probation staff on addressing issues of radicalism and violent extremism” in the countries of the Western Balkans, organized by the Council of Europe (CoE).
In her speech, Ms. Lejdi Dervishi emphasized the work done by the CVE Center by coordinating and treating this issue with maximum importance and by holding periodic meetings with senior representatives of justice institutions, prisons, and the probation service, in order to raise awareness of the representatives of these institutions about the key role that they have, in preventing and countering violent extremism, in all areas of implementation of their activities, focusing on the process of returnees from conflict zones.
Also, Mrs. Dervishi shared the experiences followed in Albania for capacity building and training of penitentiary system staff and probation service in preventing and combating violent extremism (P/CVE).
