10/08/2021The Albanian government finalized the third repatriation operation of Albanian citizens from the Al-Hawl and Roj camps in North Syria.
The Albanian government successfully completed the third repatriation operation of 5 (five) women and 14 (fourteen) children from the hell camps in Al-Hawl and Roj, North Syria.
After the first two operations, this third operation contains the largest number of Albanian citizens repatriated in a single operation, after several months of preparatory work by state institutions in the country in order to provide the necessary conditions for their reception and accommodation in the homeland.
The Coordination Center for Countering Violent Extremism (CVE Center), together with the state institutions in the country and international partners are cooperating closely to coordinate the work in order to provide all the necessary assistance and support in the first 72 hours and also to prepare/implement the rehabilitation and reintegration programs.
State structures, coordinated nationally by the CVE Center, will perform the necessary forensic and psycho-social examinations following the standards established by the good practice of psychologists and social workers with 5 (five) citizens repatriated in October 2020, while also taking care to respect the fundamental rights and freedoms of individuals in treatment.
